Alsace Grand Cru Eichberg

The Eichberg Grand Cru has southeast-facing slopes. This terroir, establishing the boundaries of Eguisheim, is made up of sedimentary limestone and chalk rocks and is rich in gravel. The Eichberg benefits from a dry, hot micro-climate. In fact, precipitation on this terroir is among the lowest in the Colmar region. Wines from this vineyard are made to last and are famous for their remarkable fruitiness and generosity, celebrating their fragrance and typicality.

Our Alsace Grand Cru Eichberg Wolfberger is offered in two varieties, RIESLING and PINOT GRIS.

Did you know?

“Eichberg” means “the oak hillsides” in English. Marbach Abbey, founded in the 11^th century, collected taxes from the community in the form of wine from a place known as Eissche, from which we get the name Eichberg. In the 15^th century the quality of the wine from this Grand Cru was such that it improved even when being transported for several weeks in barrels.
